My own small business
In 2018 launched my own small business making handmade clothing and selling it at markets and online through Etsy. I design the garments, make the patterns, and sew all of the pieces myself. I also design and create all of the brand's visual identity and branding myself as well as do the photography, marketing and social media. Voluptua's branding has changed over time but stayed true to the core of what Voluptua is: a vintage-inspired handmade clothing brand, celebrating and empowering plus-size women with unique, fun and well-fitting designs.
During 2020, I adapted my sewing skills to making face masks, many of which I donated, but also began selling them in my Etsy store. Voluptua quickly reached the front page of mask sellers on Etsy in Australia, I think, due to my fun and varied fabric choices, high quality, fast turn-around and great service. I have made and sold hundreds of handmade garments at this point and over 2000 face masks, achieving Star Seller rating on Etsy.
